Sookie would have known if Tara's mom killed her by reading her thoughts. Maybe Tara glamored her? Or her mom was cowering in fear, was splashed with gore, and just assumed?

If Hollywood has taught me anything, it's that if I don't see a body, they're not dead.

I just started watching this show and I am hooked! We just got HBO back in May so we could watch the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions. Since we have a contract for a year of HBO, I thought I might as well check out their series. I started True Blood this past weekend. I've watched the first 6 episodes of season one. I love this show!

I'm not going to read too much on this thread till I catch up. Anything else I should check out on HBO?

And why didn't Pam feel Tara's death because Pam was her maker? And speaking of Pam, why is she in Morocco looking for Eric when last we saw him he was sun bathing on a mountain and burst into flames. Or not....?

all in all I thought it was a good episode. Maybe Tara will come back as a ghost and talk to LaFayette.
I was thinking the same--wouldn't Pam have sensed it if Tara died? At first I was upset that they killed her off within the first 5 minutes but the more I thought about, I don't think that was Tara. I think she killed that infected vampire and took off. It probably happened so fast that her mother didn't even realize it.

I agree about Eric. Don't know how he ended up in Morocco and I hope it's not going to be 6 weeks of looking for him. And I wonder what made Pam go to Morocco anyway

The below is a "spoiler" about Tara. It's not *really* a spoiler, since the episode has already aired, but since it seems like some people have theories about it, I thought I would put the below in a spoiler. The spoiler includes an interview with Rutina Wesley (who plays Tara).

Spoiler
Tara is definitely dead. It was her all over her mother. Apparently, the actress likes the way Tara died.

Personally, I just like the fact that she's dead. I didn't like her character at all. She was constantly upset and often yelling at people. I would've thought that Pam would have sensed her death, but True Blood hasn't always been very consistent with their vampires.

Anybody else have the same, "Ohhh, that's why Pam is standing in a bucket" moment?

I have to say, I had fallen out of love with True Blood last season. The story lines were so over-the-top and campy. One can only roll ones eyes so many times in an hour.

I only watched the season premier this week out of sheer boredom ... and was pleasantly surprised. At least for this one episode, the writing seems to have really improved ...more taut and suspenseful.

Enought to make me at least want to watch Episode 2.

I don't think she truly feels that way. I watched the True Blood special before watching the episode and Rutina seemed really grateful to the show and I don't think she would trash them like that. I think this is just a ploy to throw the viewers off for a bit. Tara is by far one of the best written characters on the show.
