I often borrow whole seasons from my library, but bought Season 2 because I missed it.
I think I liked Season 1 better. Two seemed just more sensationalized to me, with all the group sex.
I do love the series and have never before watched a vamp series.
Has anyone else seen any others?
Also, has anyone read the books and how do they like them compared to the series on tv?
I'm glad they didn't allow Sookie to get married.
I laughed when that character said 'what do they SEE in you?"
The good girls in these things tend to be so boring, but at least Sook has some sort of powers. I expect they will develop that in Season 3.
Some of these things try to base concepts on things already proposed in metaphysical circles.
I liked the idea of all creatures having projected themselves into existence.
Does anyone know how to spell the type of creature MaryAnn was? I don't think I've ever heard of it before.
That god that she worshiped - I wonder if it will make an appearance.

Well, I can't wait for next week and the fun to begin.

Hooray! I saw a little teaser about Season 3 and it looks like we're going to be seeing some warewolfs/shapeshifters. One, in particular, who is especially H-O-T and takes a fancy to Sookie who is missing Bill (who I am assuming will be MIA for a while). Should be a good season.

Ah presume that Bill shall not call again upon the series for an interval of episodes.

I loved season one and thought that it was good. I tolerated the first half of season 2 and hated the second half. All the gratuitous sex that was just nasty and the MaryAnn story kept getting dumber and dumber. But its a lot like what crack is I guess I still looking forward to season 3 even though it sounds like Alan Ball is just trying to top himself in the nudity, crazy wow buzz department which I think is disappointing.

Then.....I see that they are shooting with real wolves. Man, wolves are just so wild and majestic. To keep them in cages and make them do tricks for Hollywood just makes me sick and hate Alan Ball et al. Straw that might break the camel's back.

Yeah, I thought they strung the Maenad thing out too long, too far, too destructively. Town's trashed. You only do that in the series finale. Imagine all those old southern ladies figuring out that they danced naked and begged fat deputies to assuage their desperate sexual needs. In the real South, that would basically produce Jonestown (even in Lousyana).

I felt exactly the same I really enjoyed season one and most of season two but when Maryane and all of they Maenad stuff going on it was just too long and too crazy all of that dumb shaking she would do.. but I did watch the whole season and I looking forward to season three hopefully it will be way better than season two.
