Anyone else catch this 2-hour special on History Channel last night? About the US Government's response plans should we ever go through the experience - God forbid- of nuclear detonation in a major U.S. city. This was a shocking, sobering & quite depressing documentary but really should be seen by everyone. I'm sure it will air multiple times as cable shows generally do - check it out.

Don't know about Threads, never saw it but I can tell you The Day After did a number on my (then) much younger self. We watched it with my parents on HBO the first time it was shown and I had what I call my first "breakdown". I actually think I had a PTSS episode. I couldn't stop crying or shaking and for quite awhile afterwards I was seriously depressed. I had never thought about what would happen if "the big one" happened. I'm still horrified and if I let myself be, terrified.

I will see if it's on sometime I can watch and hope I don't have another anxiety attack!
