That's impossible! ... after years of not turning on the tube, I went to Hulu and watched some shows that I really liked and thought had potential but were mostly 1-3 season shows.

One of them was Journeyman. The premise was that a man involuntarily travels back in time to intervene in the lives of people at the behest of the universe. He is supposed to figure out, real time, why he's there, who he's supposed to help, and how to correctly intervene. Meanwhile he meets a former fiancee who he thought died in a plane crash but had actually been a traveler too, but she traveled forward in time.

I thought this show was really interesting but apparently it didn't do well in the ratings and company executives were thinking of cancelling the show but didn't know how to **** off the actors. The writers' guild strike fixed that - the contract couldn't be renewed since there were no writers.

Another one is Kyle XY. It's got a great storyline, and peppered in it are the lives of his adopted parents and siblings. This is about a boy who was found in the middle of the city and had no memories and no identity, but was extremely bright and could use 90% of his brain. It's an interesting show to watch unfold.

Given those two shows, both sci-fi / drama, what shows would you recommend for someone just getting back into it? I know of Fringe, and may start watching it, but other than that?

If you missed BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, go back and watch from the start (the 1st movie/mini-series), and also LOST and HEROES (both not quite as good as BSG).

In the past few years there have been many other time-travel and sci-fi types shows, most cancelled. Still many good to watch if you don't need an ending
