Home - Tyler Area Gays is East Texas's Largest GLBT

Just stumbled upon this & thought I'd share since a lot of ill informed people on these boards seem to think this area is so bass ackwards & not progressive in the least bit.

You realize you don't exactly help matters with some of your bass ackwards rants, right?

Anyway, Tyler is pretty much East Texas' largest everything (excluding Houston), so this comes as no real surprise.

Its just that I've heard it so many times before I wanted to show those same people we actually have some progressive thinkers here in the sticks.

Why so on the defensive, Al?

Does it really bother you that much?

Is there something we should all know?

Isnt Tyler the largest city in East Texas? If so why would we expect it to be otherwise?

I'm sure there's a gay community in Provo, Utah but that doesn't make it progressive in any way.

How does having a large gay community equal being progressive? And why should Tyler be so hamstrung by that singular and subjective definition of "progressive"?

I think this is a good look for Tyler. I'm just pointing out that you really shouldn't be surprised by people thinking the area is backwards, as you have been anything but a shining example of Tyler's progressiveness.

There are gay people everywhere.

Tyler is still not a progressive city.
