Report in Tyler paper yesterday May 29, 29,000 cars per day are using the Loop 49, far exceeds expectations of 16,000 cars per day. Actually 3,000 more cars and the figure would have been double predictions. Lindale by-pass section parallel to US 69 North, thru Lindale, construction to begin soon article says.

Maybe, since toll revenue will dictate the timing of future construction on Loop 49, construction will sooner rather than later. Suprised to see the 29,000 figure.

Well, crap. I hope it doesn't double again since this update where it becomes useless until two lanes on each side finishes.

Yep, but hope this usage will speed up the construction of the addi tional two lanes. Just shows the road was needed as some had thought there was no need for the road.

I agree.

They have to finish the east side first then they build the additional lanes. If they do that then that is going to make the traffic a lot worse once it's completed before additional lanes.

Man, I wish they would speed up the progress for the East side, who gives a crap about Lindale Relief right now.

If that trend continues, then I'd look for TXDOT to consider adding additional lanes to already-finished areas of the Super 2. And tolls will actually help speed up new construction.

I would tell TXDOT to speed up the progress on the east side and then add lanes afterwards then go over to Lindale Relief Route.

I have e-mailed Google Maps on the update for Loop 49. It took them a month to add the completed west side loop as a freeway. Not a big deal, but it's good to see Loop 49 on Google Maps. Apple Maps is far behind on this, obviously.
