a coworker of mine just moved here from a tiny rural town in west tx. she is looking for schools for her teenaged kid here in tyler (13 years old). she is living in the same apartment complex as i do, and is torn between enrolling her kid in whitehouse or a much closer school here in tyler. she is looking in to the more respectable public schools here in tyler and nearby areas. her biggest concern was the bus schedule as her kid is not used to getting up early (6:40 am for a whitehouse school) and the resulting commute she may have to make if her kid cant make it to the bus schedule. any advice from the local parents here?

If she lives in the Whitehouse school district and can't afford to send him to a private school, he legally must attend Whitehouse schools, to my knowledge. Or she could homeschool him.
