Let me ask you this, for instance how long does it take to get to DFW using Loop 49 versus non toll roads? Does it really save that much time?
It totally depends on where you're coming from in Tyler. It's only a Tyler thing - once you're out of Tyler it's a non issue. If you're south of Tyler or in south Tyler, Loop 49 could save you 15 or 20 minutes.

Or you could fly out of Tyler instead of Dallas.

Many people do use it. More than 33,000 transactions per day, a year ago figures. A transaction is, of course, if you get on it for just a mile and exit, that "counts" as a transaction. When I heard figures of 25,000 transactions per day a couple of years ago, those figures were almost twice the total expected at the time. Sooo, as posted,it appears other toll roads are having the "inaccurate" billing problem. Maybe Toll 49 billing hasn't gotten at least "somewhat" better by now.

But, yep for me as well, it is a time saver.
