But I STILL contend city should raise taxes, yes raise taxes a SMALL amount more each year so when the next oil bust occurs and when more and more shoppers buy on line, where most sales taxes are NOT collected, which Tyler depends on for 41% of their revenues.

Just maybe services will not be disrupted. Oh, city now is ABLE to hire two more policemen and two more fireman for the additional population that is now in Tyler.

This is not development news, but since there is "scarce" development news and this was posted I HAD, lol, to respond.

At the very least "your" university should have football, at least a team, lol.

Baylor is NOW nationally thought of as a GREAT school to attend, at least the masses think so. Thanks to Gov. Ann Richards, being a grad of Baylor, Baylor was chosen as a member of the NEW Big 12. Therefore gaining a first rate coach who could recruit players to Baylor thus winning.

The football teams success prompted the former owner of the Astros, a Baylor grad, to put up the money for a grand new football stadium. Baylor now winning in most sports. I see Baylor grads of 20-40 years ago, wearing bumper stickers, tee shirts with Baylor names and color, some of them are NOT even sports fans, but now since the University has "prestige" they proudly ware the Baylor colors, even my Sunday School teacher that NEVER went to a football game, and would not know the difference between a touchdown and a basket wares a Baylor shirt, lol

Oh, well, the other sports on campus are fun to watch and ARE competitive. We take what we can get. lol
