I am moving to Tyler this month and would appreciate it if someone could recommend a good veterinarian there. I would like one that also has boarding services. I am especially interested in hearing from anyone whose pet has needed orthapedic surgery. My dog tore his ACL and will need tibial plateau leveling osteotomy in the next month or so.
Thank you everyone for your input.
- John

What part of Tyler will you be moving to? We have used Copeland Rd. Animal Clinic for years.

I will be living in southwest Tyler (75709 zip). I really don't mind having to drive a bit to get to a good office. Copeland is one of the Vets I was checking out on the web since they do have orthopedic surgery listed as one of their services. I sent them an email last week, but they never responded to me.

As much as I am ashamed to admit it, some people in this part of the state just aren't very e mail savvy. The best way to contact them would be to call.

Not wanting to hi-jack your thread but I also need info about Tyler vets. Specifically I need to know if there is a Tyler vet who will write a prescription so you can order your pet's meds online. My vet refused and is expecting me to buy the prescription from him at a cost of $3.00 per pill! I can get the same med online for about $1.00 per pill. I've never had this problem come up before so was kind of surprised since I've used this vet for many years. I'm just wondering if all the vets in Tyler feel the same way about online pet pharmacies.

BTW, Copeland Road Animal Hospital is an excellent facility....very clean, friendly and caring staff. My dog goes there for grooming and the vets have treated him a couple of times. I would just call them directly. I have heard that this facility is "for sale" as the owner is wanting to semi-retire and move closer to family. Don't know if that will change the services they offer.
