Im a 27 year old single woman who would really like to move out west into the mountains but is having a difficult time knowing where to move. I live in Kentucky at the moment but i would really like to move to the mountains out west in a city between 1 mill-150,000. I am also an atheist and a vegan. i would like to move somewhere that has a large population of young people, ideally with similar interests. I'd like suggestions OTHER than portland, or . suggestions are much appreciated!!

That's between 150,000 and a million population, right?

The front range of the Rockies -- Denver, Boulder, Ft Collins and Colorado Springs might work for you. All are pretty much nestled up against a large, beautiful mountain range. Just a guess, but I think Boulder and Ft Collins, mainly due to the college campuses, would have the younger population you want. Boulder and Denver are growing together so much that it's hard to tell when you leave one and arrive at the next.

Salt Lake would likely be too much the wrong religion for you; Wyoming, Montana and Idaho probably don't have cities big enough to interest you that are near the mountains. I don't think your diet would matter where you live. Rabbit food is available everywhere.

Boulder has a green belt so it is actually pretty easy to differentiate from Denver.

By US TERRIORIES, it mean places like Guam, Samoa, Puerto Rico, etc, not the old territories of the USA west.

You're definitely in the wrong forum. However. . .if you're 27, Atheist, and vegan, then Los Angeles may just be the place for you. It's a bit on the pricey side, but doable if you come with a plan, are willing to sacrifice and work hard. Been here 31 years and have no plans to leave anytime soon.
