Hey, it's Navidad in Puerto Rico! Need I say more?
Surely, we each have our very own favorite song for this time of the year. Yours may be a traditional Christmas song akin to the typical Jose Feliciano "Feliz Navidad" type. Or - like the one I really love - it may have absolutely nothing to do with the Christmas cheer.
The song I love during this time of the year has nothing to do with Christmas. But, it does bring back to mind a bucket+ of memories with friends back in the day around this time of the year.
I heard this one blasting out of a car riding through the Christmas parade in San German 2 weeks before Christmas...I think it's only fair that there is a reggaeton Christmas song. You don't have to like the genre but I think these guys Jowell y Randy deserve recognition for their originality and their courage to fuse salsa, reggae, bachata and rock into their songs. Not to mention with whom they choose to collaborate. It's a little late pero Feliz Navidad!
I know Christmas are over, but for some reason every time I go to Puerto Rico to celebrate Christmas I come back cleansed by the abundance of good music that Puerto Rico has and has had throughout the years. After listening constantly to Radio Universidad while I was there, I can’t stop listening to the following songs:
