One of the issues in the CNMI is the internet is pretty slow, so telecommuting may be a challenge, not to mention the time difference to the mainland complicating things. Plus, if your income is earned from a mainland employer, it may eliminate the tax benefits of living in the CNMI, but an accountant woulf know best.
