We are trying to book a fall vacation at the St. Johns Westin and can't get our calls returned. Its really frustrating as we have been trying for over a month and no one answers the phone!!! Is this a bad case of being on island time, or is this the normal way of doing business for this property??

We are surprised and disappointed by their apparent indifference to potential guests and are considering using another base on the island. Is there another resort property on St. Johns that offers similar amenities?

I'm very surprised to hear this as that would be most unusual. Their direct number is 340-693-8000 while their toll free reservation number is 888-627-7206.

There are a few smaller lodgings and a ton of vacation villas on St John (note, no "s" unless you're referring to the capital of Antigua) but the only other resort is Caneel.

Thank you for your reply. We are just so curious and wondered if they may be having some sort of problem and just aren't getting the messages we continue to leave on the voicemail. We are calling the right number because we get their voicemail...just no returned calls. If you live there, would you call and see if there is a problem with their system?
We really were planning a resort vacation, so I don't think that a condo or other situation would suit us for this trip...and I snore so a B&B is unthinkable!

I just called the main number and had no problem getting through. Explained the problem and Cherise in reservations says there hasn't been a problem but that you can call her directly at 340-714-6062.

Busydesk, you might look into renting a private home there - my best friend and I did that several years ago and it was fabulous! Unless you need the amenities of a resort, I'd highly recommend it. Since there are not as many full-time residents, there are a ton of houses up for weekly rental. Just be sure to rent a car, of course - and I would recommend high and on the north central side. The south side was a little buggy.

Thank you Sam for responding. We really do have our hearts set on a resort this trip...it will give us a good "base" for exploring the island, we think/hope.

I would try using the Westin website. A call to the hotel directly would likely just get rerouted to a central reservation call center anyway.
