My husband and I are probably moving to St. Thomas in a couple of months. Work is not a problem, since we are driven by an offer there for him and I telecommute.

Are the dangers of living St. Thomas blown out of proportion? We can't do a pre-move visit, to be honest but I lived in the Dominican Republic and Panama growing up, lived in Croatia (island of Brac) and Spain. I've traveled extensively but am always curious to hear from the locals.

I don't scare easily but want to know more or less what to expect. Need to know about desirable areas to live and areas to avoid since I'm an avid runner.

Thank you!
