After missing another deadline for a scouting trip I remembered wanting to try living in Puerto Rico, but sort of forgot about it with the storm & all.
So until I get a chance to check it out I figured I'd ask a few things here.
1. Act 20/22.
Easy to do or are there a lot of hoops to jump through?
If I decided to try out PR I'd be living there full time running my business & likely trading in the market for a living. In theory it could bump up the time to early retirement substantially for me.
2. How's San Juan since the storm?
I was thinking about getting one of those modular, off the grid, storm proof homes. How much trouble would I have finding land, setting something like that up, and would it make me a crime target?
3. Speaking of crime, should I look into carrying or is that overblown for people living in the city?
4. Is conversational Spanish a must?
I lived in Miami & it was fine so if it's like that I figure it won't be an issue. But I'm nowhere near conversational.
5. Nightlife/Dating-decent or not so much?
PR women easier or harder to date than those in the states? Is San Juan nightlife just on weekends or throughout the week & is it upbeat, relaxed, or mixed?
Any other info I should know would be welcome. Thanks!
