Countless examples of government wastage, inefficiency, and mismanagement exist in Puerto Rico and this is especially true at the municipal level. I've consistently argued that municipalities need to be abolished and consolidated into counties, the present system is unsustainable and Puerto Rico cannot afford 78 little fiefdoms.

In Rincon the mayor has used FEMA funds intended to pay municipal workers for overtime costs incurred as a result of Hurricane Maria on building a water park and holding a celebration in honor of Rincon's patron saint
