It appears that the Puerto Ricans discovered the warehouse.

Our daughter told us that they have located 12 more, no surprise here after hearing her stories after the hurricane.

More firings will probably happen.

The designated secretary of Public Security, Pedro Janer, said that the Bureau of Special Investigations is putting the final touches on the report on the handling of supplies that were found in a warehouse in Ponce, and ordered by Governor Wanda Vázquez last Saturday.

The delivery of the report “should happen today, probably at night. We are still at 5 in the afternoon. The Secretary of State (Elmer Román) and I are going to review them together and then he will pass it on to the governor and she will decide what course of action she will take, ”Janer said in a brief meeting with the press in La Fortaleza.

not that it matters but it smacks more of incompetence than corruption. corruption would be handing them out to political supporters or selling them off on the black market after having received them for free. this is almost like they received delivery and forgot they were there. in either case it is grounds for firing.

this seems deficient in logic

"Where is Wanda? She's not here. She's busy hiding disaster supplies!" crowds shouted on Monday, reviving chants hurled by protesters over the summer, when the public forced Gov. Ricardo Rosselló out of office.
Quote:
The head of the emergency management agency, Carlos Acevedo, issued a statement explaining that the supplies were being distributed and denied that the much-needed resources were going to waste....Within hours, the island's governor fired him.

"There are thousands of people who have made sacrifices to bring help to the south and it is unforgivable that resources have been kept in a warehouse," Vázquez said...The next day, Vázquez fired two more top officials in her cabinet — the Housing Secretary Fernando Gil and Department of Family Secretary Glorimar Andújar..."They weren't able to personally tell me specifically where these [collection and distribution] centers were located, what they contained and whether an inventory was completed," she said, according to the Associated Press....

it is quite obvious that incompetence is at play not just corruption but knee jerk emotionalism isn't going to fix anything either. there is no evidence that wanda is hiding supplies

Even though I love PR and enjoyed my time living there, I have to agree with you.

"He said about 600 pallets of water were distributed when Hurricane Dorian and Hurricane Karen threatened Puerto Rico and during a drought that affected the island last year. Nearly 80 of those pallets remain in the warehouse because they expired, he said."

Bottled water has a shelf life of 2 years. They did not send them expired water. If they are now expired that means they sat there and expired, instead of being passed out to people in need.

When you hate a person so much that you withhold emergency supplies from your own citizens after a natural disaster in an attempt to make more people hate him as much as you do...
