The poor service in restaurants and other places is also being experienced all over the United States. The complaint of many establishments is that they can’t find enough people to work. It seems people would rather stay home until their unemployment benefits run out.

Not in my state. We value work and service. Republican governors cut that out on June 26th. The government shouldn't pay you more to stay home than what you were getting paid. Democrats states are continuing this 'till September. You have Democrats in Congress that wants to give $2,000 a month for each person for the rest of the year. Moderate Democrats knows better.

I thought maybe its a covid thing but it really just looks like horrible service, and almost a discriminatory thing...
How is that even relevant?

Oh, I see...maybe you are being mistreated for being white. Aww, poor whites...so oppressed, so persecuted....so...clueless.

it's worse than it used to be and labor shortages are not unique to PR though it is worse on the island because wages are lower (therefore more businesses cannot afford to match unemployment)

Labor shortages, particularly of the long term variety, should lead to an increase of wages.

When I go to the country side I get great service. It's in the city that is the problem especially the "high" end area.
