Is a teaching degree from Puerto Rico valid in the continental U.S? I am planning on going to college in P.R but then will be moving back to New York shortly afterwards.

I believe it. Here are almost the same laws, certifications and all the same as U.S.

one certification for teaching does not always transfer to another state. You usually have to take extra tests to be certified in different states. The degree would transfer, but the teaching license may not and you would need to check with the new york department of education to see what you would need to do to get the teaching license to transfer
