SONIA SOTOMAYOR MADE IT............First Hispanic woman in the USA Supreme Court is a PUERTO RICAN. We also have the first Hispanic Astronaut, who is also a PUERTO RICAN. Now let's try for the Presidency!!!!
Let's celebrate and be proud of our heritage, AND PUERTO RICAN POWER.........
If they made it......anyone of us can....all it takes is hard work, dilligence........and education. MY motto is: EDUCATION WILL NEVER BE AS EXPENSIVE AS IGNORANCE.

That's right! New Yorkers and Puerto Ricans should be proud, because Sotomayor is from NY, and her nationality is Puerto Rican.
Celebrate, but if you are a white male, then celebration is probably very low key. I can't believe that the "wise Latina woman" with one swoop erased results of the exams that represented the hard work of many fireman to enforce affirmative action. New York for all its power represents the worst morals that America has to offer. Hopefully she will become "wiser" and grow up to the position that she was given.

I'm happy that a Bronx Boricua has made it to the Supreme Court.
Just some trivial factoids to add: First generation CONUS puerto ricans (those physically born in the island, and outside military facilities, such as myself) cannot run for president. Only a constitutional ammendment can change that. That said, second+ generation puertoricans like Sotomayor can. I have no doubt eventually a Hispanic president will be elected. I'm not so concerned whether it happens to be one of Caribbean descent, Mexican et al. I still think the election of a black president is a much more dramatic element in the race dynamics of this country than electing a Hispanic, but it would still be a notable event.
I know my mother feels proud (my mother was a lawyer) about the confirmation, I think she spammed my cell phone with texts after texts lol.

Is not only New York that represents the worst morals, is America as a whole.
