I don't think it's a little known fact, but I find many puerto rican women to be simply drop dead gorgeous. A very beautiful people these women. Many age so well too.

Six Miss Universes later....you're darn right Puerto Rican woman are some of the prettiest on the planet. Hey, for a spec of an island like Puerto Rico to have that many Miss Universes speaks for itself. Love my bootylicious mami's. None come close!
Beauty pageants are a really big deal on this island. Girls talk about it from a very early age and they even have miniature beauty pageants with queens for different events. There is a strong cultural emphasis on women being decorative. I even heard someone say that having a contestant in the Miss Universe contest was a reason for Puerto Rico to not become a state! LOL. You are right though about there being many pretty women on the island.

Reason: add
Several years ago I heard that Starbucks once gave serious consideration to selling coffee from Puerto Rico at its outlets located all over the mainland. But they decided against it becasue the production of coffee on the island is small and they just don't have the ability or capacity to keep a large chain like Starbucks supplied on a full time basis. They even sent reps down to the island to check out the local coffee scene. I was told this by a former Starbucks employee in Seattle.
Dident Applebee's only just open it's first locations in PR?
Most chains found in mainland do have a presence in PR albeit some more limited then others. Subway, Burger King, and Church's are very common but McDonald's, Wendy's, and Quiznos for example are not as common but can be found.
