I am a high school US History teacher in California looking to collaborate with a Puerto Rican high school class. We are currently studying US imperialism and will be talking about the Spanish American war and the acquisition of Puerto Rico. I would love if my students could email or create a forum with Puerto Rican students where they can learn how this subject is handled in schools in the US and Puerto Rico.

Please email me at lleaming@bousd.k12.ca.us

Any info on how you were taught how Puerto Rico was acquired would be helpful in addition to any info on how Puerto Ricans view US foreign policy as well as info on Puerto Rican nationalist movements for independence would be helpful.

If you are from PR could you please provide a city so we can google earth the location?
