this is so sad. people didnt even have a warning to change homes or downsize or ask for help or whatever. they kept saying short term extensions for something longer.

So does this mean if it goes to the Senate say tomorrow or Thursday only 50 votes are needed, no possibility of filibuster? If so, why didn't they do this in the first place?

i dont understand why you need a 2/3 vote to pass something. shouldnt it just be majority. the republicans are never going to walk with this administration. they are determined to make this president and this administration a failure. I have never seen so much bipartisanship than under Obama. I hope you all vote Democrat this upcoming election. Did any democrats vote no?

The congress has been very divided since the 1980s, HOWEVER in the past they usually put that aside for issues like this, because of the common goal... instead of bickering over funding....

YES but is that the bill that just failed to get the 2/3 vote? confusing sometimes because sometimes articles dont show up on this site until AFTER the info is outdated--- if that comes from AFTER todays vote---- its GREAT news--- BUT if it meant that Reid was working under the assumption that the House would get the 2/3 vote passed---- then its not such great news....

They have tried almost everything possible at this point to try to get something passed, and it hasn't happened...I don't think there's a chance in *&^% that it's going to work out...

Reid is in the Senate, not the House.

This is about working on a bill with the Republican caucus in the Senate.
