My B/Y/E was 7/18/09 and I worked enough during the 1st Quarter 2010 to make me eligible to file a new claim for my 2nd year. I have 2 questions:
1 - Should I file a new claim NOW in order to get the process started (the website says that if i file today, my claim will be effective 7/19) OR do I certify benefits next week, like usual, and wait for them to give me instructions?
2 - Who do I list as my last employer? My current part-time employer or my last full time employer from Q/E 3/31/10 (which is also my highest earnings quarter for the year!)?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Question 1
OP, you did not list what state you resided in. It is my understanding that you will not be paid U/I if your BYE expires and you did not refile. I would assume that you would continue to certify as normal and file the day after your BYE date. The new claim will take priority and unfortunately will not qualify for the $25 FAC payment; this is unavoidable. I assume the $25 FAC payment will continue if/when you resume your balance on the primary claim.

Question 2
Your last employer would be the employer you must currently worked for. They will be able to see all the money you've earned during the last 4 quarters and will make a determination on your new claim to decide your weekly benefit amount and the number of weeks you'll be eligible for.

I hope this helped.
