Just FYI, your first extension after regular benefits would be EUC Tier I for 20 weeks -- not EB, as stated in your title of this thread.

Ok I'm confused. So once your unemployment funds run out in state of CA, you just sit back and get an extension? What determines this? Do they call you or ask for a meeting?

Also I'm confused about the "tiers" thing.

Thanks

Im fairly new at this, but, your claim is good for 1 year usually. The first 26 weeks are paid by your former employer, then you can get an extension paid for by the Feds. The first round is called Tier 1, which is where Im headed now.
The CAL-EDD website has a good explanation on its website, check it out.
The EDD sent me an email stating the first extension is automatic. We'll see!!!

Hi Aquaboy,

Good luck and please keep us posted.

My first 26 weeks ends in 3 weeks. I plan to follow EDD instructions and let them automatically file the first extention for me. I'm hoping it's as easy as it sounds.

Thanks! I hope they dont take too long or we stand to lose several weeks of benefits. I'm not seeing any job offers coming my way!

The forms for Tier 1 look almost exactly like the first 26 week forms. I believe the money is same, except the Fed Stimulus money ends soon. Perhaps Diorgirl could clarify that.
Are you in Cali, Rapturegirl?
