HI all,

I have a quick question and have not been able to get an answer from searching the net and forget trying to call the NJ UE office. Here it is: I started collecting unemployment in July 2010, 26 weeks will be up at the end of Jan, am I eligible for the additional 20 weeks? I know they pretty much squashed all extensions but with some of the articles I am reading it seems like I may still be eligible for this Tier I only. Any thoughts??? Thanks!!

In New Jersey, when you exhaust your regular benefits at the end of this month, your account will automatically be reviewed by NJ UI. You should then move into Tier I -- for an additional 20 weeks of benefits.

The eligibility cut-off dates for the EUC Tiers were extended through December 2011. So when you exhaust Tier I (typically in about five months), you should move on to Tier II for 14 more weeks. When you exhaust Tier II, you should move on to Tier III.

A complete list of the extensions and eligibility cut-off dates is available on the NJ UI website:
Department of Labor and Workforce Development | Unemployment Benefit Extensions
