My claim is not based on the temp agency nor was it filed on the temp agency. In essence they have nothing to do with my claim. Im just hoping they dont cause problems. I am in my 2nd Tier on a claim that was filed from my last employer.
From what I understand, EUC are financed by the federal government and not by your previous employer. However, in order to remain elgible, the state rules for elgibility still apply. If you voluntary quit, "without good cause" you might be disqualified for benefits.
Once you put down the reason you are no longer working, the department might investigate to see if you made an accurate statement on your continued claim form. If you put down "quit", it might register a red flag for the department to investigate.
It might turn out to be just a bump in the road for you, but it could cause a temporary delay in your benefits.
If you were me, what would you put in the box for no reason no longer working as so not to cause a 'red' flag? What determines if edd would contact them or not? Is their someone at edd checking all these claim forms? I just dont understand how the process works and how to not get in any mess as a result of this.
As I sit now, I have no more hours to claim on my new claim form. On the last claim form I sent I put still working part time so they deducted my gross pay from my benefits. Since this all happened after I mailed the last claim form, do I have to put anything down under did I worked at all if paid or not. If they dont get a response to tie out to what I last said still working part time does that raise a problem?

Did the department send you a "Notice of Unemployment Insurance Claim Filed" with your last employer, the last day you work and reason you are no longer working (which you put "still working")?
If they didn't, then you probably escaped a potential hazard.
If find out you quit, you're going to have some big problems. On your new continued claim form, you don't have to put a reason if you not claiming any wages.
Instead of putting down "quit"so it does not raise a "red" flag should I put down assignment finished and no more work and hope the two dont talk?
Well how did the person at the agency react when you said you weren't coming back, and how did you handle it?
The reason I ask that could matter. If you left them hanging by not showing up at all or calling that morning and saying "I don't like the job", then maybe they might contact unemployment.
If it ended with them not being too upset, than most likely nothing will come of it.
This happen to a friend of mine. He was on unemployment from a previous employer and took a assignment from a Temp agency working over nights for a yogurt company.
It was supposed to be a long term assignment but he didn't like working graveyard so he quit on his second day and the Temp agency reported him to EDD. He ended up having to pay back 4 weeks worth of benefits that he got after he quit the over night gig.
I'm not trying to scare you, but prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Good Luck.
I hate to say this, and I say this from personal experience, you will have a problem with EDD. It is considered "quitting" when you leave an assignment without authorization by the agency or the client. It doesn't matter if they are part of your claim was filed or based on the agency.
However, the agency might not report it, but don't expect to get any more interviews or jobs from them.
What will happen next, if the agency reports it, you will get an interview and they will determine whether or not you had good cause to quit. Saying that it was not the right fit or job for you is not a good excuse for EDD. Acceptable excuses would be things like it was not suitable work or you had a health issue. If they find that you have quit, they will most likely suspend your unemployment a certain number of weeks and until you earn a certain amount of money.
I worked one day for 2 hours and another day at 8 hours and another day at 8 hours for a total of 2 days and 2 hours (18 hours total). The fit did not feel right at all so I decided not to go back.
This is sick!
Sorry, I don't mean to sound condescending (on second thought... YES I DO!) Who on Earth is unemployed for (almost) a year, lands a job, and then just up and quits? Do you realize there are people struggling to just get an interview for a part-time or temp job? You should count your blessings. What you are doing is tantamount to fraud. On top of that, you have tarnished the image of the temp agency in the eyes of the company they sent you to.
You will get caught.
