After 10 months of applying Im going to an interview for a major American company! And it's a Union job with benefits!
I havent been to an interview in 30 years! I'll file a complete report after it's over here on City Data.
If things don't work out, I'm moving to Tier2 next check..
Wish me luck!....

Best of Luck. Dress conservatively, but not over the top. Union means blue collar not executive. Try to match the uniform. Be very positive and enthusiastic about the company. Praise them. Basically kiss A$%.

Good Luck!!

Not true... unions represent a wide variety of professions, including my own as a public librarian. And we don't wear a uniform or "blue collar" attire! I wore a formal suit to my last interview (which led to being hired), and was very glad I did - since everyone interviewing me was dressed similarly.

Good luck (to the OP), and I really hope you get the job!

Thanks, all. I'll be presentable. Its definitely a "blue collar" job, except they are VERY picky about who works there!

This company doesnt seem to have that MO. My background check and credit is spotless, Im sure that is a factor.
I did some more reading on this company; for a Union job the wages and perks are on the low side, they dont even have a pension.
I'll report back later...
