Diorgirl - I need your help please. My question is... I was on unemployment back in 2007 for 2 years - I received all the tiers (I was a 99er). I found a part time job in May 2010, I worked that job for 8 months until they laid me off Jan 2011. I was eligible for unemployment which I am now collecting. My unemployment runs out in June 2011. My question is: Is there an extension that could benefit me when my UI runs out in June of this year? I've been trying to get this info but am not successful. Thank you for your help.

did you work more than 20 weeks and earn over the NJ earning threshold? I belive its 7300?
Quote:
To be eligible for unemployment benefits, you must have worked at least 20 base weeks in covered employment or you must have earned $7,300. For weeks worked in 2009, the amount is $143; and for weeks worked in 2010 and 2011, the amount is $145. These wages must have been earned during a 52 week period that is called a base year.
If she only worked 8 months how could she get extended benefits?
I've worked 6 months so far which is coming to a close, and I "assumed" I would just get the initial benefits and nothing after, or maybe even just half of the initial benefits.

So if I only work 6 months I'm going to get the full coverage and even extended if I don't find a job?
