A friend of mine was concerned because he had unemployment insurance from PA, and he collected benefits for a month or so.
More recently, he took a temp assignment job for a client through a staffing agency but quit the position within a couple of days. A number of aspects weren't good to say it briefly, but he did quit. It wasn't a full-time perm position as it was listed as a full-time contract assignment (although with no end date) and the employer was the staffing agency.
He just spoke with the UI officer who just noted the information, but said that a determination will take time, likely 2-3 weeks, and mailed to him.
He mentioned that although he had doubts taking the position in the first place, he didn't want to turn down the opportunity because he was unsure really how things would really be based on the interview. But now feels it was more of a mistake than a positive experience, atleast on his end because it complicates the UI aspect. Mistake for everyone involved though really.
Has anyone gone through this -or had a family member/friend? Will his UI benefits likely be ceased because he quit a position, although not the original position that made him eligible in the first place?
Usually it means no more UI, but if there are extenuating circumstances you can prove (your state's UI handbook might provide some acceptable reasons), then it might not affect your UI claim.
Quitting a temp job while you have an existing UI claim can be slightly more flexible than quitting a job and filing a new UI claim.
only say it was a temp job and lasted a few days, being honest is a mistake here if you get what I am saying!! I once only claimed a few days and said it was a temp job to fill in for a few days. Lets hope they dont look down on quitting. Next time just say TEMP and job ended. Claim the money earned and still collect UE!!

I don't know how it is in PA, but doing that would get you in a lot of trouble in California.
