If I was let go from the company I was working for (through the temp agency) but is still active with the temp agency just not on another assignment, can I get unemployment benefits?
Did you have unemployment taken out of your paycheck? If not, then no. If you did, you might be asked about why you're not working and why you were let go. If it was a contract/lack of work issue, you should be fine. If you were fired, it might be contested if you apply
Thanks for responding, I'm still with the temp agency just not on that assignment. I was asked by one of the managers how I felt about working there and I told him I didn't like it so he said, "You can leave". I was making $8.00 an hour and was treated like ****! I have two degrees and was overqualified for that position but took it anyway because I didn't want to be on unemployment (dumb decision). I was only bringing home $250 per week (after taxes) and was being overworked. I qualified for unemployment benefits before I started working there (I started three weeks ago) and truly regret taking that job, now I'm not sure if I'm getting benefits at all!
