Employer filed insurance (collect, file, receive, claim)

I was previosly laid off temporarily in N.C. but am now back at work at same job. My employer told me that I am being laid off for 3 weeks and he will be turning me in for unemployment. This was a month ago and no unemployment received for those 3 weeks I did not work. I confronted my employer about this and they told me it takes time. What I think about this is that they lied about listing me as I think they are paying me back and getting revenge over me for walking off the job last year and didnt go back for 6 months. Am currently back until end of july as business shuts down and will decease.
Can I refile myself for those 3 weeks myself at the unemployment office and collect for those weeks even though now I am working again.

Would appreciate any advice or knowledge of this. Thank you

I've never heard of anyone being paid state unemployment benefits without personally filing their own claim. Employers do notify the state labor departments when they plan a layoff, but that does not automatically trigger payments being sent to the employee. You have to file for those.

File for those weeks you were laid off. And, be sure to file again when the business closes.

you are the only one who can open a claim you must contact them as soon as you are laid off
