I started my claim in July 2011, I have currently been approved for Tier one - 20 weeks, will I automatically progress through the TIERS, or can this be the end for some reason, can I get denied for the next TIER? TIER 2.

It seems like the progression is automatic, but i'm not sure if there is a reason I can be denied for the next TIER.

My Tier one payments will end by June 2012, it appears no more EUC will be available? As its after the BYE date??

Read FAQS: //www.city-data.com/forum/unemp...ment-faqs.html

Whether or not you continue through the Tiers is dependent on Congress extending unemployment legislation and keeping all levels of Tiers intact. Congress is talking bout reducing benefits to 33 weeks, which means it is possible you would not collect more than Tier 2 even if legislation is extended. Your bye will not prevent you from continuing on the tiers - if legislation provides.

Yes, it is. There is reports of movement on the issue but nothing more to report yet unless something happened today as I haven't looked around or found anything.

It stinks being at this point. I think we are in Tier IV now and if EB is truly done so are we.

EB will phase out in PA (and all states) via lookback. Congressional extension will NOT correct the lookback problem. Sooner or later, PA (and almost every other state) will no longer pay EB because it will not meet the lookback criteria.

This, today, from the BLS:
Quote:
  • Pennsylvania also used a hard end date in state law for the three year look-back provision. However, Pennsylvania is currently in a 13 week mandatory "on" period in the EB program that runs through February 4, 2012. Although Pennsylvania has ceased to meet the criteria to be "on", they must remain in a payable period through February 4, 2012. Absent additional state enactments by Pennsylvania, their EB period will conclude February 4, 2012. Should Pennsylvania extend their three year look-back provision, please note that their three month average, seasonally adjusted total unemployment rate (TUR) of 7.9% has fallen below the level necessary to remain "on" in a high unemployment period (HUP) in the EB program and assuming Pennsylvania remains in an EB period, starting February 19, 2012, the maximum potential entitlement for claimants in Pennsylvania in the EB program will decrease from 20 weeks to 13 weeks.
