I have received unsolicited emails inviting me to apply for positions on a few occassions now. I’m just starting out on unemployment, and am wondering if I have to follow up on these “invitations” or risk jeopardizing my benefits. These jobs have not been relevant to me, and require skills and qualifications that I do not possess. I’m assuming they pulled my contact info from the job search websites that I am registered with. They seem spammy to me. Any insight would be appreciated!
I don't know if they do that anymore, but they could. The UI people are the only ones with the power to tell you to apply for a job. When they don't, you are in full control of where you apply for work provided you meet the minimum contact requirements.
