Probably sooner Than September. The last state On EB (other than AK, which uses another trigger) will be ID, and even they are at 113% lookback, so they would probably drop off In August. If you were referring to AK, then yes, they may last To September...not sure how exactly their trigger works.

Other states use a total unemployment rate. That's the number of unemployed regardless of whether they are collecting benefits or not. AK for some reason must have had a very concentrated number of layoffs all at the same time. That state is eligible based on the insured unemployment rate. That rate is the number of people that happen to be unemployed that are collecting benefits. Only two factors can affect the insured unemployment rate: people getting jobs and not filing or people losing benefits because of exhausting.
Actually, at one point only the insured unemployment rate was allowed in any state, but the events required to be eligible based on the insured unemployment rate are so rare that the total unemployment rate and 110% method was added to make it easier for states to qualify for the extended benefit program.

Well as opposed to some of the comments posted above, the extended benefits in NJ have ended.
And I'm confused.
I DIDN'T receive a letter saying my extended benefits are ending.
Am I still qualified to collect? How do I know?
Ive been unemployed since 11/2010.
Thankfully I got a job, but I don't start till August. Are my benefits over effective immediately?

Claim history, please. Have you worked? Is this your only claim?
If you are still collecting EUC tiers, you can exhaust those until 12/29/2012.
If you are on Extended Benefits and this is your only claim, the last week for which NJ can pay EB is 7/7.
Extended Benefits in NJ end 7/7. EUC Tier benefits will be paid to 12/29/12.

I have not worked since I filed my initial claim 11/2010 and began to collect 3/2011.

If you first began collecting in March 2011, you have exhausted approximately 69 weeks' benefits, as follows;
26 weeks state benefits
20 weeks Tier 1
13 weeks Tier 2 (approximately, depending on when in March you first began to collect)
You have remaining:
1 week Tier 3 (approximately - see above - it may be two or three weeks more)
6 weeks Tier 4
And then your benefits end.
Doesn't NJ send you correspondence on what tier you are collecting? Your online information gives you the balance remaining in each tier. Divide your weekly benefit into the balance and you will know how much of Tier 3 remains. Then you begin Tier 4. Then you're done.
You have not reached EB. NJ no longer pays EB after 7/7. EB doesn't affect you.

You wouldn't believe what happened with me now. They treated my claim continuation into tier 2 as a new brand new claim and I got an letter in the mail saying it was invalid and my entire balance was knocked down to $0.
I had to go in today and wait for two hours to fix it so I was told today I was able to exhaust my first tier and now they say I will start into tier 2 next week. This what I got online today:
Our records indicate that you may be eligible for an extended benefit claim. A claim will be filed for you. You will be notified by mail of your eligibility and if you are eligible, the date on which you should next claim benefits.
So I have nothing to worry about? I hope lol
I have to tell you NJ unemployment is a pain in the ass

You must have reached your benefit year end and NJ did a monetary determination which is normal. Eventually you would have received another letter saying you were continuing on Tier 2.

Hi everyone!
I got both the email and letter in the mail saying my unemployment benefits would be stopped but just got a letter telling me to claim benefits for the next payment period. With this latest round of benefits, I started to receive a weekly letter asking me to fill out the information on jobs I've applied to, which I've done so faithfully. I assumed that I wouldn't be getting this again if my benefits were discontinued, but now I've just received it again. Can anyone help me out?

Impossible to tell you anything without knowing:
- When the claim was first opened
- How long you've been claiming
- Is this your only claim
- If not, when were the others opened
- What tier you are on from which claim, if you know
