When should I call unemployment to reopen claim? (extension, qualify, work)

My last day of working a part time summer temp job was this Sunday. When should I call unemployment to reopen my claim from June? Do I call Tuesday to reopen my claim or do I have to wait a whole week of not working before reopening? Thanks

Call Tuesday. The waiting period (if there is one) starts after the call, not before.

Okay, thank you. I called today and they said they will mail me the info on when to claim. The lady on the phone said the reopened claim is good until Feburary of next year. My question is what happens if I'm still unemployed after that? Do I get an extension or is that it for my claim?

As of now, there will be no extensions after 12/29/12, but that could change if new legislation is passed. Depending on your earings from the job you just finished, it might have provided enough in earnings to qualify you for a new claim in February, 2013.
