Question about weekly work search Requirement in Pennsylvania (apply, qualify, substitute)

This will be the first week I am required to log my work search activity. Unfortunately, I am not finding anything within an hour commute to my home and the job postings that are outside of this range are positions that I don't really qualify for (even though they are in related fields).

So my question is this, I see that I am required to apply for at least two positions this week. Does it matter that I am not qualified or that these are beyond the 45 minute commuting distance for this requirement? Do I still HAVE to apply to these? If not, how do I document that I searched for a job, but did not "suitable" job offerings?

Sounds like a tough situation. Are you in a rural area with no jobs nearby?

One idea - Does PA have any type of activity that can substitute for job contacts? I'm in Florida and the Workforce Offices (One Stop Centers) offer services such as resume review, job searching classes, etc. that qualify in place of a weekly job search. They can be used once, but can help "fill in" your requirement when no suitable contacts can be made. I've had to do it a few times and it can help meet the documentation requirement in a pinch.
