Could you please clarify how taking a temp job would effect your unemployment claim. ie; if the temp job does not lead to a hire but lasted a long time (6 months ?)...would I then reopen my original unemployment claim or would a new claim need to be opened based off the temp job (which in the worst case scenario would be for less money than the original claim). Can't get anyone on the phone here in NJ. Thanks.

Whether you are in NJ or CA, the principles are the same, although a quit would be harder to overcome in NJ than CA.
