Normally when I go through my Webcert every two weeks, the period ending for 2 weeks is there "ready to file". Last Sunday 6/30 I got a weird thing where it says "ready to file" for period 6/16 - 6/22 which is only 1 week. why did i only get 1 week? my claim ending date is not till 12/14 of this year.

I've tried calling but you can never get through. So when i called the automation service, they said that my last issued payment was on 6/17 for the week ending 6/15. However, I just got paid for the 1 week today. Can someone tell me whats going on or if anyone experienced this before?

You're exhausting state benefits. Because of the waiting week, there is a stray week at the end of your state benefits. That week is paid out separately. Then CA needs to transfer you to EUC. With paper forms you would have received biweekly claim forms with 2nd week xx'd out. Then CA would send you another set of biweekly forms for EUC w/first week xx'd out, 2nd week would be 1st week of Tier 1. Online is probably doing something similar. You may need to wait until next week until CA is finished processing the transfer to EUC to claim that 2nd week.

I guess I should of looked into the UI benefit plan more closely. I didn't realize there was a state UI for 26 weeks and EUC tiers afterwards. Do you know if I am still able to continue to submit via webcert? Also do you know for sure if the 17.69% cut will be affected for myself.

thank you so much for the info!

You should be able to continue to certify via webcert. If not, CA will send you forms. Keep a good log of all your work searches.

Yes, sequester cut of 17.69% will reduce your EUC benefits going forward until at least September 28th per other states, although CA indicates on its website the cuts carry through until December 22nd.

New Federal Unemployment Insurance Extensions

CA is implementing the cuts oddly as compared to most other states, so it may be the only way they can equalize is by reducing EUC benefits all the way to 12/22.
