Yesterday I certified my weekly claim. It went through, then when I tried to check my payment history, received the following message:

"We're sorry, we are unable to serve you at this time due to technical difficulties or scheduled downtime for internal processing."

This morning the same thing and of course when I call, there's no one there because it's Columbus Day.

Any help is most appreciated.

Default You're not alone

There is something wrong there this week. I haven't been able to get through at all on another matter. It's Chase that sends the text that the money has been deposited. Getting information on the NYSU phone line is usually endless. The website has some information, but has huge gaps in information and doesn't appear to be updated, forcing people to use the phone that never gets you to a human. On my latest in-person visit, the representative there said there had been so many layoffs in NY state that they were severely understaffed (ironic, isn't it?).The Republicans in the state legislature don't want to provide unemployment in the first place, so they are starving it of necessary resources. Hope the NY Times looks into this. The website says they are less busy on Thursday or Friday afternoon, but I can't hold out much hope to you, given my experience there.

I appreciate the response, Mary Ruth. The situation was actually straightened out. I was able to get through to them and they said I wasn't the only one with problems viewing the website. Then, about five hours later, I was able to log in and view my payment history. I wish you luck. A friend of mine who uses Facebook told me that he posts questions on the New York State Department of Labor Facebook page and that they answer very quickly.
