Temporary Data Base Shutdown

In preparation to launch new online Unemployment Insurance (UI) services later this summer, the EDD’s main data base, which stores our benefit claim records, is scheduled to be unavailable from
6 p.m. Friday, July 26, until 6 a.m. Tuesday, July 30. Customer impacts include the following:
    • Customer Service/Call Centers and public offices closed: Unemployment Insurance, Disability Insurance, Paid Family Leave services.
    • Unemployment Insurance: Applications, certifying for benefits, benefit payments delayed at least a day.
    • Disability Insurance and Paid Family Leave: Applications and benefit payments delayed at least a day.
Self-service options will still be available for use during this time. Thank you for your patience as we work to bring you new online service options that are fast, convenient, and secure.
For more detailed information, review the Temporary Data Base Shutdown page.

And, it just keeps getting better!

Oy vey. EDD personnel have been in training on this new system. The glitches, learning curve, etc. don't bear thinking about.

Just saw this notice today...I was fired on 5/31 (employer claims I didn't meet their expectations) and had my EDD interview on 7/19 but haven't yet found out whether my claim was approved. This limbo is so hard to deal with, glad I have savings to get me by while I search for another job but waiting is not easy.
