Following wife to another state due to her school. (qualify, work, money)

So, I never thought about this until someone mentioned it yesterday, so thought I'd ask around. My wife is going to be going to Graduate school in Texas for the next 3-5 years, so I am moving there. My work doesn't have anything in Texas, so I'll be unemployed for a (hopefully) short time. Now, we've saved up money to live on for a few months, but I'm now wondering if I may qualify for unemployment benefits in the interim.

We live in Illinois currently, and I make approximately 58k a year.

Any info, or if anyone's gone through something similar, would be great! Thanks =)

Illinois offers trailing spouse benefits, but not for someone in your situation.

Trailing spouses are people who follow a wife or husband to a new home due to a change in the wife or husband's place of employment.

You can apply, but you will be denied.

Just moved to NYC for my wife's job. I found a job right away, but pretty bored with it. That's why I send out 1-3 resumes per day looking for new jobs!
