CA: Claim Form (extension, file, receive, fill)

Figured I should have received a new claim form for weeks ending 9/14 & 9/21 (both weeks I didn't work). If I didn't receive one would I still be able to put in a new claim tomorrow (online or by phone) or would I have to wait until I receive the new form?

You can use telecert or webcert if your paper claim form didn't come in the mail. However there are certain claimants that must use paper claim forms, mostly just those claimants that are working part time.

If you webcart are you still able to access the part where you need to fill in where you looked for work those weeks? Currently on extended benefits so have to fill that part every time. Would be first doing it using webcart so not sure how it exactly works.

As far as I know, CA doesn't make webcerters fill in job search information at this time. However, the state can still ask for it at any time, so be sure to keep a log in case you have to provide the information. It's because of the work search that many switch to webcert so that they don't have to do the extra work let alone pay for a stamp.

If CA has told you - by marking x in the box - that you need to list your actual work searches when you claim - which they do for certain EUC (extension) claimants, then you cannot file on Webcert. You need to submit a paper claim form.

If you are NOT required to give them this information when you claim, then, as Chyvan says, keep a log, and use Webcert.

CA is having terrible problems processing continued claims these days due to a computer upgrade. So, if you must file using the forms, you need to call them and request they send you the forms. Many people are not receiving new claim forms. You are NOT alone.
