There was one job that I had that paid a little better than minimum wage. Could I claim unemployment for that too while I am claiming unemployment for a better paying job now?

In short, no. Once you open an unemployment claim it is valid for 1 year from the date you filed. Wages in your base period are used to determine your benefit amount. The only way you would be able to use wages for this new employer that you were terminated from would be filing a new claim, which you cannot do until your current claim Benefit year End(BYE) date. These earnings from this new employer can be used to see if you qualify for a new state claim after your BYE has passed.

You don't make the determination on the base-year wages in your claim - your state does. One or all of your employers might be included in you claim depending on base-year earnings used for the claim which is predicated on when you file.
