I receive $335 weekly now since November. There was no notice in November 2013, the only thing it said on my account, that the claim expires in October 2013, so I called them up in October, when my claim expired and they helped me to open a new claim.

I received in the beginning $362 when I first started to collect, then they reduced it to $323. And now its $335.

That's not good enough. Get out your letter. How much total does it say your maximum benefit is.

Without knowing your MAXIMUM AWARD, we have no way of knowing how long you can collect.

The simple math is:

$$Maximum benefit divided by $335 = No. of Weeks you can collect.

So, we need to know your MAXIMUM AWARD.

Thanks, I see

The only letter i found is dated from 10/21/12- it says that I have completed Tier 1 of EUC, now i am eligible to receive up to 14 weeks under Tier 2.
second page shows Monetary Benefit determination -It shows the Alternate Base Period
Thats all I have found. It doesn't say anything about the award amount

However On my account UI online says -Maximum Amount Payable: $19,548.00

I spoke to UI dept of labor now..they said that my benefits ended on Dec29, 2013. They gave me UI from the 2012 claim, from Nov-December 2013 . But now its over, my benefits are over. ANd if the congress approves the extension then I may be able to receive if not then not. they don' know yet
For now she said I should keep claiming UI. Sigh..

If you first drew unemployment in November 2012, then your benefit year-end was November 2013.

You continued to work until January 2013, or did you? My comments on this thread on a new claim were made because you did not dispute this statement I made upthread:
Quote:
But - if you filed this claim in Nov. 2012 - and then continued to work for your employer until January - you will have eligibility for a new claim in November 2013 - because any earnings after the date of filing (11/12) are considered "new."
Apparently, you didn't work at all???

There was just a gap before you could begin benefits in January??

If so, yes, you don't qualify for a new claim and your benefits ended when EUC ended.

The devil is in the details.

I did worked in January 2013 only a week or so. Then I got laid off. I started collecting UI in January 10th 2013 or something. i like that. That explains what you stated above. And about claim that was opened in End of October-begining of Nov 2013. So no money for me, unless /until Congress approves it or not?
I am actively searching for a job, on top of that I have been sick, thats prevents me from going to interviews.

There was just a gap before you could begin benefits in January?? I don't understand what you mean by this?'you mean this January or last year Jan?

If you only worked a week or so in January after applying for benefits in October/November 2012, you probably didn't earn enough to qualify for a new claim in NY.

So, you didn't have a "new claim in Oct./Nov 2013, at all - because most likely you didn't earn enough after you first filed for benefits to qualify for a new claim in 2013.

What you are calling a "new claim" is a continuation of EUC from the original claim, not a new claim.

Did you actually file your claim in November of 2012? If so, why was there a gap between when you filed for benefits in Nov. 2012 and you beginning benefits in January?

Hello there Ariadne22
.

So I was able to claim from January until March 29,2014. But didn't get any money since they didn't approve it yet. Today March 30th, 2014 i was trying to claim weekly benefits, and on my page there was no option to claim" only file new claim, etc. does it mean that it over for me? Maybe you can shed some light on this?
I thought i will get 6 months retroactive ...anyway there is no money, all i had been doing is claiming for the past three months since Dec 31, 2013
thank you

Of course, there's no money. EUC legislation has lapsed, but NY has allowed you to claim in the event Congress renews.

What follows is are two possibilities (guesses) on your situation.

Guess #1. If NY now only gives you the option of filing a new claim, you may have reached the end of your benefit year. File a new claim. Then check back to see if NY continues to let you certify remaining EUC.

Or:

Guess #2. You have now claimed all EUC you're entitled to should Congress extend. If you haven't worked, it is "over for you" until Congress extends. File a new claim anyway. All NY can do is deny.

Hello Ariadne22

thank you for your help
.I spoke to UI department about my situation on MOnday. They said that I am not eligible to file a new claim.
I was wondering if I can get $$ for the three months (Jan-March 2014 )that I was claiming,of course if Congress renews
