Hello, this is my first ever post on here and I decided that some advice is better than none.

I've had a hellish experience with EDD, I've been claiming benefits since Sept yet last week was the first time I've received consecutive payments without some sort of drawback, (Phone interview, appeals hearing etc.) Because of this I was playing catch up on my forms for awhile and am still not completely caught up. I have sort of a system, I recieve the Claim form, I fill it out and four days later at night I have the money. I recieved my claim form for the week ending 12-28-2013 on January 10th. I mailed it back the same day. I figured at the latest I'd recieve it Tuesday night due to past experiences. By Tuesday morning it said it had been recieved although I'm pretty sure they recieved it Monday. EDD Web Cert info isn't always up to date. But after last night I haven't recieved my payment still. I literally have no other idea why they could be delaying my benefits. I have a part time job at Best Buy and have been claiming hrs worked, but for example if I worked 9.82 hrs I've been writing 9 hrs. But I haven't had a problem before with that issue. Since I made a mistake once about my hrs I'm pretty careful. Do you know why it could be delayed? Are you supposed to input your hours as exact as you know them even if it is something like 9.82 hrs? Thank you.

It was my understanding that the 12/28 thing was only for Federal extensions? I am still on California EDD unemployment. I never received a notice that I wouldn't be receiving benefits any longer. They sent my claim form to me after the beginning of the year. Also if that were the case wouldn't they still have to pay me for the week ending on 12/28/2013?

EDD has had serious software issues ever since the Labor Day upgrade. We have a lengthy thread on the issue. You are one of its continuing victims. Nothing you can do but keep persisting.

//www.city-data.com/forum/unemp...-payments.html

This only discusses part of CA's many issues.

New Upgrades for the Unemployment Insurance (UI) System

Problems are posted all over the internet, the CA newspeople are covering the issue, the legislature is holding hearings on Deloitte - which wrote the software for CA, MA, FL, NV - all of which are experiencing problems - CA and MA being the worst. Deloitte is being investigated by CA, MA and FL. FL is currently fining Deloitte $15,000/day til it fixes its system. Many of the issues are unfixable, and that's the truth.

So, just keep on truckin'. They're trying at EDD, but the system is a nightmare.

This article is early days, yet. It got a lot worse, for many, since this was written.
