I live in NY and lost my job on 2/4/13. I have been receiving UI and am entitled to 46 weeks total.
If the extention is approved, I will be owed one week of UI. Then what?
I still do not have a job and have been looking every week.

Can I file another claim? I worked for my employer for 5 years.

Thanks for any info!

"Then what," sorry to say, is visit your social services people for food stamps and any other help. Many people are now doing that.

Default then what?

Can I file a new claim when my current claim ends on 2/4/2014?

You can file another claim at your bye, of course.

Know that if you haven't worked since the job loss, NY won't new claim eligibility unless there were some late payments from your employer which NY is reading as new wages.

Your bye is your benefit-year-end of 2/4/2014.
