My first yr of being on UI (don't know if that's the same as first TIER) will be ending May 24, 2014 & I have about $5600 left of my claim balance, so that balance won't be running out before my claim expires.

When it gets towards the very end, will I be asked if I want to reapply for the next year?
Does EDD just send another continued claim form, so I can keep going if I need to?
Do they automatically do another phone interview before the 2nd year (or tier?) starts?

How does it work? I've never been on UI this long to ever worry about the 2nd year (tier) before.

Thanks!

Yes, you'll get a letter. You reapply online at your bye. Because you've worked, CA will open a new claim. In the past CA did this automatically, because most were receiving EUC.

Since you are still collecting state benefits, don't rely on CA to do this. You reapply.

Thanks again.

BTW, the last UI money I got was on Jan. 2nd. I'll still get more money soon right?
