well today was the last weekened of my unemployment... I dont know whats going to become of my after the end of this month...no work has been found, and its cold. I dont have enough to pay rent next month so Im contiplating taking what I have and driving down south where its warmer. DSS is a very long wait, and I rather be out in warm streets then cold streets..anyways

Why did the NJ unemployment thing tell me this message?

Our records indicate that you may be eligible for an extended benefit claim. A claim will be filed for you. You will be notified by mail of your eligibility and if you are eligible, the date on which you should next claim benefits.

According to some here I dont get extended benefits, but is there a chance? Wouldnt the system know if I was able to get more or not? Why are they telling me this? have they told this to anyone else?

NJ's way of categorizing your account as "eligible" should EUC be reinstated. Makes it easier for them to notify people, load money, and resume payments should that time come. If EUC is reinstated, keep checking your account for updates.

so if I was NOT eligible in some way shape or form, I wouldn't see this?

Or do they put this message there as a standard message?

what im surprised about is, they didnt ask or tell me or advise me to at least, try to make a new claim...which makes me wonder if I can get benefits, should they pass more laws

You probably have eligibility for EUC - if it is extended.

We've repeated often enough on this board, there is no new claim eligibility until your benefit year has expired. That's why nothing was said on that subject. You are only six months into your claim, if that. If you haven't worked during your first benefit year, you will have no new claim eligibility at your bye.

They aren't passing more laws. More laws for what - other than EUC?

You're not waiting for anything - unless NJ sends you something on potential EUC eligibility.
